5 Simple Steps to See Where You Rank on Snapchat

Step 1: Open Snapchat and Look for the 🔥 Fire Emoji

First, open your Snapchat app.

  • Tap the message icon in the bottom left corner.
  • Look at your chat list. If you see a fire emoji (🔥) next to someone’s name, it means you have a Snapstreak with them.

That’s a good sign! It means you’re close, and you might be on their Best Friends list.

Step 2: Get Snapchat Plus

Two smartphone screens displaying Snapchat interfaces. The left screen shows the chat section with a red arrow pointing to a user's Bitmoji icon, and the right screen promotes Snapchat+ subscription features such as 'Best Friends,' 'Custom App Icons,' and a $3.99/month plan, with a space-themed background.

If you want to be 100% sure about your rank on their list, you’ll need Snapchat Plus. I use it myself. It only costs $1.99 per month, and you can cancel it anytime.

  • Tap your profile picture at the top left.
  • Scroll down and tap on Snapchat+ to try or subscribe.

Step 3: Use the #1 Best Friend Pin Feature

After you get Snapchat Plus, you’ll unlock a cool feature:
#1 Best Friend Pin.

Two smartphone screens showing Snapchat+ features. The left screen highlights the '#1 Best Friend' feature with a red arrow, listing other premium features like custom themes and story rewatch. The right screen displays the 'Best Friends' list with a red arrow pointing to a contact marked as '#1 Best Friend' using a gold pin. A try button for $3.99/month or $1.99/month is visible at the bottom of both screens.
  • You can pin someone as your #1 best friend.
  • If they pin you back, you both get a special emoji next to your names.
  • This means: You’re each other’s top best friends!

When I pin Ryan C and he pins me back, we both see the special sign as I showed in the screenshot.

Step 4: Try the Solar System Feature

Snapchat Plus also has a fun thing called the Solar System.

  • Scroll down in Snapchat+ and find the Solar System feature.
  • It shows you if you are in your friend’s best friend circle (like planets around the Sun).
  • The closer the planet is to the Sun, the closer you are as friends.

I really enjoy this feature. On Snapchat, each best friend is shown as a planet. Mercury means you’re their #1 best friend. Venus is for the #2 spot, and the planets go on like that. Neptune is the last one, which means you’re their #8 best friend. The closer the planet is to the Sun, the closer you are as friends!

Step 5: No Snapchat+? No Worries, Just Ask!

A dark space-themed background with planets and orbit lines, featuring bold yellow text in the center that reads 'No Snapchat Plus?' A yellow label at the bottom displays the URL 'snapchat-planets.blog'.

Don’t want to pay for Snapchat Plus? No worries!

You can still see your Best Friends list in a fun and honest way. Just ask your friend:

“Hey, can you send me a screenshot of your Snapchat Best Friends? I’ll send mine too!”

This is a simple trick to check each other’s Best Friends on Snapchat — no need to spend money. Just share, stay honest, and have fun on Snapchat!

Real Talk From Me

I use Snapchat every day, and I’ve seen my Best Friends list change all the time.
So don’t worry too much if your rank goes up or down.

Just be yourself, keep snapping, and enjoy the app!

  • Did You Know?

If you and your friend both pin each other as #1 best friends in Snapchat Plus, you get a special emoji that only the two of you can see!

Final Thoughts

The Best Friends list and Solar System features are fun ways to see how close you are with people on Snapchat.
If you use Snapchat Plus, it gives you more info—but even without it, you can still stay connected.

Just remember, these lists change a lot. The best thing is to keep snapping and having fun with your friends.
